What is Ride 4 Rotary?

Ride4Rotary is an easy bike-riding event which raises money for Youth at Risk in the Illawarra and South Coast with all money raised going to Southern Youth and Family Services.

Register to ride at the event on Sunday May 19th, 2021 at the Unanderra Velodrome, or choose the Virtual Ride Option to ride when and where you like. Either way once you’re registered the aim is to get sponsored and raise money!

How do I register?

To participate in the event you must register. Riders from previous years simply need to re-register.

Click here to start the process and choose to ride live at the event on May 19th or whenever and wherever you like between May 1 and May 19th with our Virtual option.

Is it difficult to ride on the Velodrome?

The velodrome is very easy to ride on and suitable for all fitness and experience levels. There is some banking on the turns but it still feels like you’re riding on a flat surface.

What if I don't have a bike?

No problems at all you can still register.

You can register for the Virtual Ride and ride on an excercise bike or borrow a friends wheels.

Or if you're wanting to do the Live Ride, tell us when you check in on the day as we will have some spare bikes and helmets available to borrow.

Do I need to ride at the Event on May 19th in order to participate?

No you don’t. You can select the Virtual Ride option here and ride in your own time wherever and whenever you like.

Can I still register after the challenge has started?

You can register any time up to May 18th but riding slots on the day of the event (May 19th) will be subject to availability.

Does it cost anything to take part?

There is a small registration fee for anyone 10 years and over. Click here for details.

Can Children Participate?

Yes of course. All participants under 10 years of age will however need to be accompanied by an adult and there is a specific Children’s Session at 11.40am on the day for anyone under 10 years of age.

This does exclude participants under 10 years of age riding during other sessions, it merely guarantees there will be no older riders (excluding parents or guardians) on the track during this particular Children’s session.

Can I take part as a team?

Absolutely. During your registration you’ll have the option to sign up individually or as part of a team (either starting your own team, or joining an existing team – see more details below).

How many people can I have in a team?

How do I find and join a team?

It's easy!. Just follow the steps to create or join a team when you first sign up to take part in the challenge.

Can my workplace get involved?

Definitely.. Colleagues can be great team members as well as excellent supporters to boost your fundraising. Ride4Rotary is a fantastic activity for workplaces to get involved in; advocating for extra physical activity to improve our own mental health and wellbeing while raising money for an incredibly worthy cause. It’s also an excellent team-building activity that can be done virtually, which is especially important right now.

Can I take part if I don’t live in Australia?

Absolutely, just select the Virtual Event! The more people involved the better!

What happens if it's raining on the day?

In the unfortunate event if inclement weather, our organising committee will make a call whether to cancel the event by 7am on the day and all riders will be notified.

The safety of all particpants is first and foremost.

In this event, all Live Ride registrations wll automatically be switched to the Virtual Event and the ride deadline extended by a further week to ensue live participants still have an opportunity to ride and fundraise.

Where does the money I raise go?

Your generous support of Ride4Rotary will assist greatly in helping Southern Youth and Family Services (SYFS) to continue supporting Disadvantaged and Vulnerable Youth up to the age of 24 who were homeless or at risk of being homeless, along with their families.

How will I raise funds?

The golden rule of fundraising is: if you don’t ask, you won’t get. So the key is to make sure you actually ask everyone you know to support you! The easiest way is to click the relevant share links on your Profile Page to share your challenge and fundraising target.The more people you ask the more money you will raise and you can use Facebook, SMS, Whatsapp and Email to spread the word just to name a few.. Do I have to wait until the challenge starts to start fundraising?

Not at all! The sooner you start the better, so what are you waiting for?

Are donations tax-deductible?

All donations over $2 are tax-deductible. Anyone who donates online will automatically receive a tax receipt via email.

I haven’t got my donation receipt.

Can I donate to Ride4Rotary without actually registering to ride?

Yes , you can donate via the donation button.

How do I share my fundraising page?

Share your unique fundraising page URL via social media, SMS, email or Whatsapp to encourage your friends and family to join your team or sponsor you. You can also share your fundraising page on your own social channels by logging in to your fundraising page then selecting the social icons at the top of your page.

When do donations close?

Officially, all donations for Ride4Rotary will end on May 23rd but if you are keen to support the event’s beneficiary Southern Youth and Family Services just click here at any time.
